Rainbow Garden - Bunn
About This Spot
Walking into Rainbow Garden feels like stepping into a quietly familiar neighborhood spot—one where the pace slows just enough to settle into something comforting. It’s not a place that rushes you or dazzles with flair, but rather invites you to pause and savor the simple joy of a meal made with care. The modest exterior gives way to a clean, straightforward dining space where the buzz comes from warm conversations, friendly nods from the staff, and the steady rhythm of plates being carried out to waiting hands.
There’s an unpretentious charm here that comes through in every detail—from the steady steam rising off generous portions to the way the kitchen respects tradition while letting familiar flavors shine through. Whether you’re grabbing takeout or lingering over a meal inside, the scent of garlic sauce, subtle spices, and fresh vegetables hints at the thoughtful balance between bold and comforting. It’s the kind of place where the wonton soup tastes like a broth someone has taken the time to nurture, and where those nostalgic egg rolls still hold their place as a neighborhood favorite.
Rainbow Garden isn’t chasing culinary trends; instead, it offers a steady, dependable experience rooted in quiet pride. It’s where families and longtime locals come together for meals that remind them of home, and where those new to the area find an approachable introduction to Chinese food beyond the hurried takeout standards. Friendly staff, consistent flavor, and generous portions create a space that respects its guests as much as its recipes.
For anyone passing through Bunn or settling in for a casual evening meal, Rainbow Garden unfolds as a reminder that the heart of a good restaurant is often found in its ability to serve food that feels like a meal worth coming back to—steady, sincere, and quietly good.

First time ordering take out from Rainbow Garden and will definitely be ordering again. We don’t get takeout often but we’ve been in the area a few years and were disappointed with the takeout we’ve gotten at the other local Chinese American restaurants. This was just what I was looking for, wonton soup had real broth, not just salt water dyed yellow like I’m pretty sure the other restaurants are doing. Chow mein noodles seemed fresh fried, lo mein wasn’t mushy, eggs rolls crispy and nicely filled, chicken and broccoli with broccoli that hadn’t been cooked to death, very pleased with everything we tried. Will definitely be back! Thank you Rainbow Garden!

Rainbow Garden in Bunn is our go-to spot for great Chinese food! We always get the Hunan Chicken, Chicken with Mixed Vegetables, Wonton Soup, and Steamed Wontons, and everything is always fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The portions are generous, and the service is fast and friendly. If you’re in the area and craving good Chinese takeout, you can’t go wrong with Rainbow Garden!

Seventeen years later and these egg rolls still slap harder than my teenage nostalgia. This was one of my first jobs in high school, and they roll out perfection every time. Sweetest staff, fire food, and egg rolls that deserve their own fan club. An absolute staple. I tell my husband “I want egg rolls, but Bunn egg rolls.”

Our first time ordering takeout- I was taken aback that the employee on the phone didn’t ask for a name, but the food was ready in 15 minutes and the order was correct. We got the general tso’s and sweet and sour chicken dinner combos (rice and egg roll). Delicious! Is it a gourmet meal? No, but for affordable chinese it was top notch. And generous portions so we have lunch the next day. We will be back!
